"We're taking it one game at a time," he said. "We know our goal for the season, so we'll focus on each match. By the end of the season, we'll evaluate our progress and see where we stand, but for now, it's about competing every week.

"Everyone is aware that our target is to be in the Premier League, so we'll keep working towards it. We'll take it one game at a time, giving our all, and see how things go at the end of the season.

Reinildo acknowledged that playing against Everton would be a challenging match, but he felt that the team's unity was a key factor in their performance.

"We knew it would be a tough game against a strong team. But when we work together, support each other, and play as a team, we see positive results. It's not about individual efforts, but about working together.

Sunderland's captain, Granit Xhaka, scored his first goal for the club.
