The 22-year-old striker has had a successful debut season in the Premier League and has been linked with several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. McKenna was asked if he thought Delap was ready to play for a "big club" and replied that Delap is capable of playing for any club in the world.

"I don't know who would accept it, as it's not up to me or Ipswich," McKenna said. "Liam's focus is on finishing the season strongly, and I think there's a possibility that he'll be an Ipswich player next year. Nothing has been decided yet."

"But can Liam play for the biggest clubs in the country or the world? He certainly can," McKenna said confidently. "He's already shown his impact at the Premier League level, and I think he can have an outstanding impact at this level."

"However, Delap is still young and playing his first season of Premier League football."

Delap joined Ipswich from Manchester City last summer for £20M, and the club is likely to make a small profit on the young striker. McKenna acknowledged that a move is likely this summer and hopes Delap will go on to have a great career outside of the club.

"He's not played a huge amount of minutes as a leading striker before, and he's still learning and improving all the time," McKenna said. "What's right for Liam? What's right for Ipswich? All those factors will come into play in the summer, and the right decision will be made."

"But he's happy and developing well here. He has the potential, and I think he will go on to do some really good things in his career."
