Lewandowski made the most of his opportunity, scoring a penalty in the 10th minute and then converting two crosses from Marcus Rashford with a clinical finish. He also scored a perfectly placed header at a corner kick.
At 37 years old, Lewandowski demonstrated that he still has the skills to finish goals effectively. His hat-trick made him the fourth-oldest player to achieve this feat in La Liga, behind Jorge Molina, Joaquín, and Alfredo Di Stéfano.
Lewandowski's goal-scoring record now stands at 107 goals in 159 appearances for FC Barcelona, making him the 14th-top scorer in the club's history. He surpassed Neymar's record of 105 goals with his hat-trick on Sunday night.
For Lewandowski, the most important aspect of the game was the win, as FC Barcelona have often struggled in Vigo in the past. "This was a crazy game, especially in the first half," he said. "We scored three goals but conceded two. But in the end, we're very happy because we won this difficult game. We knew that if we won, we'd have fewer points to Real Madrid. We know there are things we need to improve, but we got everything we wanted today."
